Reclaim Your Rise: Type 1 Diabetes with Lauren Bongiorno
28. What To Do When You’ve Hit Rock Bottom with Your Diabetes ft. Cecily Romanowski
Show Notes

In this week’s episode I’m joined by a very special guest, Decide and Conquer Bootcamp graduate Cecily Romanowski.

Cecily has lived with type one diabetes for 17 years and spent 15 of those years feeling completely overwhelmed and defeated. She had the mindset that no matter what she did or how hard she tried, her numbers would not improve.

In this episode, Cecily goes deep. She shares the guilt, fear, and anxiety that she’s experienced around not being able to control her diabetes and how it took hitting rock bottom to finally reach out for support.

We discuss…

  • Processing feelings of guilt and shame with type one diabetes
  • The importance of prioritizing mental health with T1D management
  • Why surrounding yourself with a support system has such a positive impact on improving blood sugars and overall health
  • How Cecily lowered her A1C from an 8.3 to a 5.9
  • … and so much more!!!
